A Brief History of Britannia House Dental Surgery

About Britannia House Dental Surgery

Britannia House Dental Surgery has been serving the Newport, Shropshire community since 2006, operating from the historic Britannia House on New Street.

It is now preparing to move into a Grade II-listed building on St Mary’s Street, continuing its tradition of modern dentistry in a historic setting.

🏛 Origins and Location

  • The practice was established on 1 April 2006 at 2b New Street, Newport, Shropshire, on the ground floor of the building known as Britannia House.
  • The building itself is thought to be centuries old, possibly one of the few structures that survived the great fire of 1665 in Newport. Some historians suggest it may once have been an inn called The Britannia, which gave the property its name.

Using my partners Google account as I do not have an account. I am really upset and frustrated and disappointed with the service from this dentist, firstly Iv had 3 temp fillings in the space of 3 months, I made an 45 min appointment for a permanent filling ( this was all due to a cracked tooth) they cancelled my appointment and gave me a 15 minute check up appointment and performed a X ray and basically said he’s not qualified to do what I need doing and need to see another dentist there, also told me different things on multiple appointments and now my cracked tooth is worse which is now apparently a wisdom tooth ( never mentioned this before) , it went from needing a small temp filling with no pain and to now extraction or root canal??? And in tremendous pain, Probably due to being left so long by them and multiple failed temp fillings. Dentist also said In my last appointment with a lovely young dental nurse that I could be sedated due to my anexity and previous trauma with tooth extraction and infections and due to my panic, the injections don’t work, as my adrenaline is so high and I suffered a awful infection which spread down to my neck and had my cheek cut open, he said yes they can to do that, to then be told today that they cannot do that and won’t do that and referral would mean a 6 month wait, told this by a very moody unsympathetic dental nurse. He also told me I needed a mouth guard due to my jaw grinding but yet last time told me that it was cheaper to get private then on the nhs, and now today he said he can get me one free on nhs but however he can’t do that, another dentist will have. My mouth is now in a right state, teeth are worse, need more appointments, I can’t eat, I can’t drink. AVOID this DENTIST at all costs. dentist Mohammed

I was signed up as a new patient very efficiently and my first appointment was just a few days after my initial enquiry. My dentist explained everything clearly and had a friendly professional manner.
